Pasion scene 2

(In this picture from left to right; Ricardo,Camila,Santiago the protagonists in Pasion)

My real blog it the one under this one but i finally to the video that I originally wanted to show from the same telenovela Pasion.....this is the episode right before the clip in my other blog....In this scene Camila is starting to fall hard for Ricardo. They just got back from a ball and he walked her home but asked if he could come in for a bit and she accepts....they start kissing for the first time and she stops because she thinks she shouldnt be kissing him but he knows that she thinks that so he says "dont be ashamed there is nothing more clean then affection" then Camila says " what if its not affection. what if its lust" and Ricardo says my favorite line " its not lust ,lust only responds to the skin (physically) but this is different, you must leave this to inpire (grow) because it could be the start of something that neither you nor I can imagine" They kiss and he tells her that he has to leave for a bit (pirate things to handle) she asks if it will be dangerous and he giggles saying danger is part of his life...she then says and you like living like that..he says in a more serious tone no and so she asks then why do you do it and he says sometimes in life you ar e pushed into difficukt situations ...the end of the scene he promises her that he will leave his pirate life so he can live a normal life... basically for her..Very romantic scene..ENJOY!!!

True Love

Love...I believe in it to the point that I feel it is one of the purposes in my life to fufill. To give as much love as I possibley can while also searching for "The One". My one and only. I have love instilled in me; its part of who I am. I am the hopelessEST romantic. I am the one that gets hust over again but still maintains faith. Its funny how there is always that one weakness that everyone has. (kryptonite) mine is love. Love is my greatest accomplishment and worst downfall. I am emotionally strong and mentally determined. I am as independent as i can get for now and yet with love I can fall apart. Regardless, I still believe in it for I think there is no power stronger then finding true love; no greater sense of completeness and purpose then that obtained by two soul mates. I am convinced of this truth, which is why a career path in spanish soaps suits me. I understand these women. The women who are lonley and sleep with men to temporarly fill their emptiness, The women who find the man of their life and fight the most terrible obsticales life has to give to fight for their love, The women who are so bitter from being loveless that they do horrible things to ruin love from others, The women who are afriad to love a man that is interested for fear of getting hurt, The women who flirt but never completley give themself to a man for fear of being powerless. The list goes on with all these women and more and all in ONE telenovela. soaps are always are about love. Most generally fall into one of these general topics; A poor woman falls in love with a rich man, A rich man falls in love with a poor woman, or a histoical romance set in reneissance or the revolution etc.. Do you see the common theme ..LOVE.The best way to descibe the format of novelas would be with a quote by Patricio Wills if telemundo, "The plot is always the same. In the first three minutes of the first episode the viewer already knows the novela will end with that same couple kissing each other. A telenovela is all about a couple who wants to kiss and a scriptwriter who stands in their way for 150 episodes." Like he said the beginning of the soap lets you know who the main lovers are and then it provides a main problem followed by a seris of unfortunate events but always ending with the bad guys getting there punishment and the lovers getting married. You can learn so much about culture in novelas as well because they always have subliminally informative episodes that explain a cultural thing or region. If you have never watched a telenovela then you have never satisfied your inner romantic. It is beautiful and addicting. I have written way to much so I will stop here and leave you all with a clip of a more recent novela that is one of my FAVORITES and that uses historical romance as its theme....Welcome to Telenovela one called...PASION or in english Passion......

The Break down,

Passion is about a beautiful woman named Camila who was in love with a guy named Santiago. The have loved eachother since they were little but a bunch of stuff happens in the beginning and they are seperated the day before their wedding. Camila through this seris of bad events gets captured by pirates( this all happens within the first 3 episiodes). She comes face to face for the first time with the captian of the ship Ricardo. This is where the love story REALLY begins. She hates him because on the ship she and the others who were captured are treated like slaves and are on there way to be sold as so. Ricardo, however, is not a bad pirate and when they get to where they were going to sell the captives he gives a pirate money to buy the freedom of camila and a few others. Well of course the pirate does not do this and keeps the money for himself( he way later in the soap fights with Ricardo and dies). Camila is therefore bought as a slave for this old mean man who just so happens to be the uncle of Ricardo. This man despise life and his own sister and his blind daughter because in the past the girl he fell in love with was in love with his brother (Ricardos father) which is why he also HATES Ricardo....((((The plot thickens))))) The man Educates camila and cleans her up and buys her nicer clothes of. None of this matters to her because she just wants to go back home to her love santiago of whom she was seperated. The blind daughter gets jealous of camila and wants her to leave so she helps her send a letter to her home so that she can tell santiago that she is alive and needs him. WELLLL Camila's sister has always been secretly in love with santiago so of course the letter gets in her hands and she destorys it so that santiago will think Camila is dead. He eventually believes this after a month of her being gone and agrees to marry Camila's sister all the while constantly crying and thinking about Camila... a bunch of stuff happens and Camila gets back home with the fortune of the man who bought her. ( he died suddenly of a heart attack and had given everything to Camila in his will just to spite his sister and blind daughter which later causes big conflict between Camila and the blind daughter) Excited to finally be runited with the love of her life and her family she goes home only to find out he has married her SISTER! Camila is heart broken and lost faith in love. SO she and a girl who she met along the way get a place in the town together. Well since the money for the old man went to Camila the blind daughter had nothing and went crying to her cousin ( who is also the man she has always loved because he is the only man in her life that showed her some affection.....RICARDO!) Ricardo upon hearing the onesided story feels obligated to help is poor blind cousin and goes to the town with her, his aunt, and his best pirate friend to find a way to get the money back from Camila. He cuts his hair and dresses in nice upperclass clothes to disguise himself from what he looked like when Camila had met him as a pirate on his ship. After he comes to town comes to and meets Camila and spends more time with her he falls madly in love with her. She is reluctant to believe in his love because she discovers quickly who he is but later falls madly in love with him. She is in awe because she though she would never get over Santiago but turns out that Ricadro wins her love over and she now feels nothing for Santigo besides friendship. This becomes a HUGE conflict between Ricardo v.s. Santiago because Santiago is still in love with Camila. He has always loved her but married her sister because he thought she was dead....Well I wont tell you what happens but all that will catch you up to this scene...This is the scene after about 2 weeks of getting to know eachother and the truths are all out on the table, Ricardo comes back from a trip he took as a pirate only to find that Camila really missed him. He asks her if the fact that she missed him that much means that she accepts his love and she says YES!!! so he twirls her around and tells her how deeply in love he is and that he cant stop kissing her!!! if you want the rest of this scenes translation ...ask me cuz im tired lol ..Enjoy!!!!

The talent of success

The question is how my talent inspired me but truth be told I have never formally acted! I had originally wanted to become a criminal justice lawyer due to my great argumentative abilities and passion to help others. I had this dream and was set an achieving it throughout all my adolescent school years. It later progressed as I got into high school because not only did I want to argue but I wanted to be important. I wanted to have the power to help people in a greater quantity. I wanted to be in the government. So I decided that I would start as a lawyer to make connections and then run for the senate. This was an honorable job with a great deal of importance and power. It was not until I graduated from high school and took my first full time job at Fred Astaire Franchised Dance Studios did my career path take a huge right turn (Pun intended). I had originally had my heart set on getting my law degree at DePaul, that is until I took what I thought would be a summer job at FADS. After a month of working with them the management of FADS convinced me that dancing was my forte and a career in itself with the profit equal to if not more than that of any lawyer or doctor for that matter. They told me that the business was promising and was helping people by giving them a lifelong skill that can instantly make them happier, healthier individuals. I saw and heard of all the accomplishments many of the FAD employees have made from owning their own studios, being on dancing with the stars and dancing with celebrities, opening up their own studios, traveling the world, winning world dancing titles..The opportunities were endless and to think I could do ALL of that with something I had loved all my life but suppressed for a more powerful, acceptable position. I decided to do what I do best, be spontaneous and take a risk. So I withdrew my enrollment at DePaul and took on this new exciting career. I was doing well! I caught on to all 13 of the ballroom dances. I learned all the male and female parts of the first 10 steps of each dance. I even tested out of my bronze and got my dancing certification. I had a fellow employee be my partner both learning from square one since he was a baseball player before he went ballroom. We got first in our national novice professional competition. I was teaching a lot and I even dated my manager who later was not my manager...another story. To sum it all up after a year everything fell apart at my studio, no money was being made, pressure was enforced to push students into paying large sums of money, I broke off my partnership because he was a mess, Me and my ex-manager broke up (he cheated), and the only thing keeping me there was my love for my students. Finally, however, I snapped. I could no longer sit in an empty studio listening to lies of success that was one sided. I felt claustrophobic and not to mention broken hearted. I could no longer justify my losing out on education for a career my heart was not fully set on. Needless to say I quit. However, I was not discouraged but enlightened. I felt like I had my freedom back and I saw with clarity for the first time in my life where my passion lies. It was not the stress, the arguments, the powerful status that motivated me but it was the arts. It was the emotional power and undeniable magnetism of the arts. Not just any art but acting. DUH! I was so blind for I had always loved to act. Even when I was little putting on shows for my daycare. It was a perfect job for me because it incorporated every profession. I could be a lawyer, a doctor, or even a senator. I would be able to fall in love so many times over, which would be perfect to tame the hopeless romantic in me. I would be able to affect and touch people. I could do all of that in one profession; acting. I was not so far from this idea with my dance ability for I was already playing in the arts only now I have a clear idea of what I want. I then thought about how much impact watching Spanish soaps had on me and I realized THATS IT. I have always been the only one out of my 3 other sister who had a strong passion for Latin culture. I would constantly speak in Spanish with my grandmother and learn from her. I always go out to Latin clubs and dance salsa, bachata, merengue, etc.. I would sit every night and watch the next chapter of my Spanish soap opera and then watch the actors in interviews interacting with all of their fans. It was then in that moment when I really felt complete. I had imagined myself as an actress in one of those great soaps instilling my every emotion to all who were watching. I could feel the extreme happiness of being in that profession. I knew this feeling was unlike any and all of my other ideas for the future for this dream had substance, it had heart. My talent of acting is very little but my passion for love and for people is immense. My people skills and understanding relationships are strong. I have the great ability to see things from other people’s point of view. Most of all I have a strong will and have the desire to work hard to obtain my dreams transforming them into realities. Acting is not a job to me but it’s part of who I am. . I know I can succeed. It is said that Success is the Courage to meet failure without being defeated. I may not have the formal training but I have courage!

Pieces Of Me

Motivators…
MY FATHER… (MY HEART) My father is dead. He died of a sudden heart attack right before I went into my first year of junior high. I have 3 sisters but I was the only one from my father . I would not be half the person I am if it was not for him. He gave me my heart which I guess has a hint of irony. My father would always encourage and support me in my endeavors, He taught be to fight for my dream no matter what people say or do. He was nice to everyone and never took anyone one for granted. He gave me a positive outlook on life which encouraged me to follow my dream of making it in the artistic field instead of the more acknowledged field of Law. My father gave me one of my strongest motivation skills; Love for Life and the courage to become my vision. He died too soon and was taken from me when I was just starting into my adolescence. Death has a strong impact on live and could help shape and make you or it can tear you apart. For me it shaped my life. I now know that life is short. I believe that anything could happen at any given moment because it happened to me. I now Love life and refuse to anything but live it up to the fullest. There for my father is my heart because he reminds me to follow the beat of my own drum.
MY MOTHER... (MY PURPOSE) My mother is struggling. She has always been the strongest pillar in my entire family. My mother supported 3 girls as a single mother while trying to support her sister who is only a few years younger then her and has a drug addiction and also helping support her mother who has trouble with finances. She is so giving and loving. I can see how it affects her though. My mother and I have always been two peas in a pod and she really does know EVERYTHING about me. I will tell about my love life, school, my thoughts, my work and even my sex life haha. She is the greatest friend I have and I don’t think I could have made it through everything if it was not for her. I admire my mother’s independence and inner strength to continue no matter hard things get. Since I know her so well, I also know when she is hurting. My mother is having a rough time right now as most of the economy is. This time I can see the struggle it is for her to keep high hopes and solve all the relationship, responsibilities, and financial problems. My mother is my purpose. Together we work hard to get me to my goals and dreams. I want to make it not only for myself but for her. I want her to have for the first time in her life someone to lean on. Without cares, without work, without problems…..Free. I want to give my mom that freedom that security so that she can retire from the heavy load on her shoulders of constantly trying to keep everything together. Even though she is helping me and encouraging me for my own benefit not at all for hers, I am in it for both. I won’t stop because she has faith in me and I won’t let her down because there will not be a better feeling then the feeling I will have when I set her free.
MY CULTURE... (MY INPIRATION) My culture gives me pride. I have always been the one out of All my sisters that really grabbed on to the Puerto Rican side of the family(although my other sister is a esl and Spanish teacher) I take my culture more in as a way of life. My grandmother was born in Puerto rico and teaches my how to cook Puerto Rican dishes and speak Spanish and most of all she introduced me to Spanish soaps. It was not until 2 years ago that I found my passion to act in them. I was watching the soap opera Destilando Amor .It started off with me catching one or two episodes when I could and then turned into watching every episode taping the ones I would miss to watch after work. I fell in love with the passion. Being such a hopeless romantic every episode gave me a the fix the would feed my heart. When the actors were sad I was said…if they cried I would cry…It sound so cliché’ and that I am a emotional person but the truth was it had nothing to do with me but everything to do with the actors. I believed they were these people with these problems. They let their characters consume them completely and deliver to the viewers every emotion needed to interpret the characters feeling. I knew then that Spanish soap operas would be my road to success. It has everything I AM IN IT. They dance and some sing, They fall in love over and over again, They embrace the Latin culture, They use Spanish…then there was the last piece of evidence e that I needed to inspire me..I watched some talk shows and reality shows with these same amazing actors. I can not express how different the Latin famous people are as appose to our culture. The Latin culture does not separate their stars from common folk. The star go right up to their fans, they tell about their own lives, they encourage others. True rolemoldes. The best example of this is a show called “cantando por un sueno” or depending on the season “Bailando por un sueno” (translated means singing for a dream or dancing for a dream). A show in which a famous actor or comedian is teamed up with a person who wants to help someone they love. For example on guy wanted to pay for his mothers eye surgery because she was going blind. Then these stars and their partners are teamed up with a professional singer or dancer to teach then routines and song in which they will perform together against the other contestants to try and will the dreams of all these people. Keep in mind that these stars don’t normally sing or dance and have little to no experience but they really want to help these people obtain their dreams. I mean the stars laugh and even cry with their fans. Its sooo touching and heart warming. That is why my culture inspires me because it allows me to be and do what I love and eventually help others do the same.
